Bibin George: Make your disability your ability, dream high and the world will forget your imperfections


As a handsome Bibin George invites you to enter his house with a welcoming smile, you wonder if this is the same person who is said to be the first polio victim to turn hero in a Malayalam film. He speaks with enthusiasm, and as he stands up, asking if we could step outside into the greenery to talk, you notice him limping. “I was affected by polio at the age of one,” he says, with a confident smile. A singer, performer and above all, writer, he has been making Malayalis laugh from the age of 17 through comedy programmes on TV, like Badai Bungalow. Bibin narrates the journey of his life, from the introverted child to the hero of Shafi’s upcoming movie Oru Pazhaya Bomb Katha, with tears, but with a smile as well…
